    Default Racing auctions

I was wanting to see what racers auctions go on in everyones' area. Looking for an auction that would carry lots of Rayburn parts. I'll be new to LM so I will most likely be tearing a bunch of stuff up. I didn't want to by new, just in good shape type stuff.

Be careful of any parts you buy at an auction, they are generally there because they are bend, cracked, or just mess-up. If it isn't new in the box, be causious. Also just because it says it is for this car or this size engine DO NOT buy unless you can varify that the info is correct. Go thru and inspect every item you are thinking of bidding on and check it out, if you are unsure it the desciption is correct FIND SOMEONE you can trust that will know if it is.

AGAIN USE CAUTION IN BUYING PARTS AT AN AUCTION! You can get some good deals and all of it isn't junk but alot of it is.

I am experienced at auction buying. I always take my calipers, rulers and such. I was just looking for the small type hardware not the mechanical type that wears out. You are right about junk. You can go to a lot of different ones and not find anything worth getting. I was just trying to find some that I didn't know of in my area.

Billet's advice is especially important if your lookin at engine parts.Favorite way for crooks to sell cracked cranks, rods, heads and blocks is at an auction.By the time you get a chance to magnaflux them its too late.

I attended an auction one time where they were selling race-ready Powerglides. The guys that bought them, got them home and learned they were missing a few parts. I just haven't found many good deals at race auctions. I have to laugh when they'll pay new prices for used fuel jugs! The new parts vendors have usually got some good deals.
