Thread: Tilt

    Default Tilt

Why does tilt work? Isn't that a crutch for something else that needs to be fixed on the car? I raced stock cars for 13 years and was good at it. I then quit racing for 8 years. A lot has changed since then, but I now find myself in a crate late model and almost everything I want to do to the car is wrong according to the previous owner and crew chief. Isn't this upsetting the camber gains, bump steer, roll centers, corner weights, tire loads, ect.?

It may just a little, but on a DLM, it's nowhere near the big deal as it is on a LMSC.
If you are trying to do the things that you would do with a LMSC, on a DLM, you head is gonna explode from frustration.

It adds rake in the J-Bar slightly and raises the CG in the car which will help induce weight transfer (and with the extra rake also helps side bite). Theres alot of people that like to put a little tilt in the car when the track starts getting slick. Its not too uncommon of a tuning device .
