01' GRT Left Rear Front Shock Or Not?
I did a search but didn't find an answer. I just ran my first season in a limited latemodel last year and am still learning. I am currently running a left rear shock and spring behind with a limiter and no front shock because the setup sheet on GRT's website says the dummy shock will take away traction and isn't recommended. When I was at wild west shootout I noticed all the four bar cars I looked at where running a front shock and now I'm wondering if I should run the front shock instead of the limiter? I just got the car handling very well at the end of the season so I don't know if I should change it, what do you guys think?

Front left rear "pop up shock" helps car rotate by keeping it up on bars. Didn't run it all of last year and most of this year. Most guys run it, some don't.

Like Profab00 said, it personal preference. Either way isn't right or wrong just different.
First thing you need to realize is there are a couple major components to a LRF shock.
1. Hike down control
2. Rebound or hike up control
3. Gas or Rod pressure - Force trying to lift LR of car
You can have a LRF shock with one or more of these thing built into it, which one or ones will effect on what you're trying to do with the shock.
They can be built to remove traction or to enhance traction from the car, so it really depends on what your trying to do.
At the WWS in Tuscon, most are going to run one as it's sort of dictated by the style of race track. However I know at least one heat race was won without one.

Ok, I will stick with the limiter for now until I feel like the car and I are good enough to start trying different setups. I race mostly small 1/4 mile bullrings that normally have a lot of traction and at the last race the track was very tacky. The car was very good on entry and through the middle but at exit the frontrunners were pulling away from me. When I would start giving it a lot of throttle the left front would pull off the ground and the whole front would push. Do you guys have any adjustment suggestions to keep the left front down and make it push less? I am still unsure of what adjustments I should be making at the track. Also the steering seems slow so I checked the number, it is a sweet rack stamped 3, shouldn't it be closer to 4? Thanks for the help.

I assume you using the chain length that GRT recommends 17.5" (I think), that's a little on the long side. Try something more like 17 to 17.25" and see if that doesn't tame down the LF hike.
Yes a 3.0 is a little on the slow side, some use up to 4.4

I have it set at 17.5 or 17.75 I will readjust it and start looking for a new rack. Thanks.
