    Default Rocket ?

Just wondering if guys are running the traction shock on their blue front or even blue/gray cars?

Some are some aren't, really depends on the drivers preference. That goes for all cars.

That name "Traction Shock" is a really bad term in my opinion. It won't really add traction but may allow the car to go ahead and get up on the bars where if it wasn't there it might not.

The front shock can really be a couple of things:
    1. A hike down shock
    2. A LR slowing devise to remove instant traction
    3. A Hike aid or enhancer, by having a lot of rod pressure to help lift the car.

The shock can be a combo of these things or just one of them.

What about on a semi-slick track with long chutes and tight corners? Kinda stop and go.

Sorry, I must of not been real clear on this.

This is on any brand of car and about any condition. You could have a LR front shock that takes away traction, so some may only use it in the traction. You could also have a LR front shock that aids Hike, some may use it all the time and others just in the slick.

If I had to put a general rule on this, it usually one of two things:

    1. You like a front shock and run it mostly all the time
    2. You don't like a front shock and almost never run one.

Most guys either run one all the time or never run one.

It really depends on driver preference and how the shock it made as too whether it is used in the traction, average, or slick. It can also vary the rest of the shock package, meaning it will likely change the Valving on the LR behind shock. If you are not running a front shock your likely to have a lot of compression in the back one, but if running a front one you would likely be in the lower range depending on the valving of the front shock.

Typical might be something like this:

Rear shock only: 9-3 or there about High gas pressure

    2 LR shocks:
    Rear 6-3 medium gas pressure
Front 5-0 with high gas pressure

Is it better to run the blue front or as the blue/gray front?

The difference is the steering arm length, the blue being shorter = quicker steering and the grey being longer = slower. I'd probably say most use the grey and a faster rack, but may use the blue on certain high speed tracks where the grey can be a little quick and make the car darty or hard to make small steering corrects on.
