I was wondering how much different the setup you are using for a crate engine is than for a open motor? In a nutshell how much do you need to free the car up with a crate motor? Also what are you guys running for fuel?

Since no one else has replied.

I don't think you need to drastically change alot, but you do need to keep the car on the free side as you don't have the power to drive out of a tight condition. It's all about momentum and having a car too tight with scrub off alot of speed and you don't have the power to gain it back quickly like an open engine car.

I know having the car too tight on entry will kill the lap times.

billet is correct and he can also be a big help. Most crate racers have their cars too tight on entry (including myself) and have to make the car turn...then the car is loose and we trick ourselves into thinking our car is loose and tighten it up even more.

I have this same problem and was wondering if raising the panhard bar evenly on both mounts is the way to go? I have taken angle out by lowering the frame side mount only to find I may have created a loose roll steer problem. Maybe I should have raised the pinoin side instead. What do ya think?

Not sure I follow the loose roll steer part? If you have too much rake in the j-bar and you remove some you can actually make the car tighter from the middle out because the excessive rake was lifting the car and creating extra rollsteer. Generally you would have to add some rake to cause a loose rollsteer problem.

Raising on the pinion is similar to lowering on frame but it is a bigger difference for the same amount moved.

Those cars seem to be very RRL bar sensitive from my limited exposure to them, try raising the RRL bar up.
