bellhousing?

anyone know of a good place to buy a lightweight steel sbc bellhousing for a bert trans thats imca legal. i know speedway offers a 16 pd one, but at the cost of 350 its not an option for me.

get on ebay, you can find them brand new from dealers in the $275-$300 range. Just do a parts search for "imca"

If thats still out of range, the only other thing I can come up with would be check some auctions this winter for some used ones floating through.

Use a regular one and don't use the seperator plate and cut the bottom of the bellhousing off so it is open on the bottom. I don't know if that is legal or that safe for the much matters, but alot of people do it. That may come close the weight of the lite ones.

Speedway STD bellhousing 31# 179.95, you should be able to remove close to 10# of this bellhousing by cutting and grinding so it would be close to 21# where the lite one is 17#.
