Fastrak expands Regions for 2007 and invites tracks and other sanctioning bodies
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Fastrak Racing Series Dirt Late Model division antcipates up to 10 Regions for the 2007 season. "As of now we have 7 Regions in the country and we are already speaking with several other areas throughout the United States "stated Founder Stan Lester. "Our goal for 07 was 10 Regions and that seems to be right on target. At this moment we are in negotiations with 2 more Regions and the season hasn't ended yet"
"Our points fund looks like it may increase pretty dramatically for 2007" said Lester. "With the participation of weekly tracks and possibly even other sanctioning bodies I really think we could benefit teams all across the country. One thing we will do different for 2007 is Fastrak will pay every weekly sanctioned track Champion, a points fund for every Region, seperate from the National fund and of course the Grand Nationals".
As the Fastrak Series has become more and more popular throughout the country several other sanctioning bodies have come to light and others are adding crate engine late models. "It looks like everyone wants to get involved in some way" said Lester. "I just hope they keep their rules packages close to ours. I know some people get pretty frustrated when other series copy their rules but I personally see it as complimentary. I have tracks call me everyday wanting to know if they can use our rules. I encourage then to do so and I don't charge them a penny. If they want to be involved with Fastrak thats good, if they don't then thats ok too. My interest are the teams first and keeping tracks healthy. I know their will be some differences in tires and minor things but the closer we all are, the better everyone does. That includes the teams, the local tracks and other sanctioning bodies as well, if they want to join us. As the Founder of Fastrak, I have actually encouraged other sanctioning bodies to run under the Fastrak banner. Why not? I mean I am the one that pays the National Points fund so why wouldn't they? Can you imagine the sort of points fund we could come up with for weekly racers if we could do that? It could literally be millions of dollars. In my opinion it would be better for everyone".
Lester came from a racing family and still does as a matter of fact. My dad raced for 28 years. I drove for 34 years then became a car owner for 4 years before moving into the promoters ranks. My son has raced for 11 years and now my grandson is starting in 2007. "I know a lot of people think we are some sort of big corporation. We aren't. Yes we have a office. A small one, but I personally still work from home. I don't ever see that changing. I like working from home. I really think the teams like that. We not only know our teams but we have a lot of fun with them. Its good to see people smiling after the race and helping each other. Thats what Fastrak is all about, racers helping racers and having some fun for a change".
"Make this an OFFICIAL NOTICE to all tracks and sanctioning bodies in the country. If you want to use our rules, you do not have to call, just do it. If you want to join with Fastrak thats great, if you choose not to thats great. Either way if I can personally help you, just call the office", quoted Lester.
