(INDIANTOWN, FLORIDA) Patrick Sheltra will kick off his 2006 racing season
this coming weekend, but it will not be behind the wheel of his familiar #23
Dirt Late Model. He will instead compete in a $5,000 to win Hobby Stock
event at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. The ‘Advance
Auto Parts Hobby Stock 100’ will kick off this Thursday, January 19, with an
open practice session at the 1/2-mile, high-banked dirt oval near the
Daytona Beach area. Qualifying and heat races will take place on Friday
evening, with last chance events and the 100-lap feature race to commence on
Saturday. You can learn more about the $5,000 to win event by logging onto
the new Volusia Speedway Park website at www.volusiaspeedwaypark.com.
Patrick will be joined by teammate Michael Lloyd at VSP this weekend. Since
the Sheltra Motorsports team owns two Hobby Stock racecars, Michael Lloyd
will get the nod to drive the second team car for the ‘Advance Auto Parts
Hobby Stock 100’ this weekend.
“I am excited to get back out on the track this weekend and have a lot of
fun,” stated the young Indiantown, Florida driver on Tuesday afternoon.
“There is no pressure running these Hobby Stock cars, so you don’t have to
worry about tearing anything up. I can just go out there and race and have
a good time. Don’t get me wrong, I am out to win that $5,000 top prize, but
we are also there to have a fun, relaxing weekend.”
Patrick and the Sheltra Motorsports team will take to the track for the
first time in Dirt Late Model competition on February 1-4 at the Golden
Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia for the ‘Super Bowl of Racing II.’
“Mr. Showtime” will then bring his Sheltra & Sons Construction / Brady Ranch
/ Petroff Towing #23 Rayburn / Pro Power Monte Carlo to the East Bay Raceway
Park in Gibsonton, Florida for the annual ‘Winternationals’ on February
6-11. Patrick’s busy Georgia/Florida Speedweeks will conclude on February
13-18 at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. You can view
Patrick’s upcoming schedule at his official home on the web, located at

Patrick and the Sheltra Motorsports team would like to thank all of their
sponsors and supporters including: Sheltra & Sons Construction, Brady
Ranch, Petroff Towing, Allabout Flowers, Siboney Contracting Company, C.J.
