602/604?

my team is thinking about running crates over limeted ,can someone tell me the difference in the two

Around here the 602 gets 150lb weight break and a couple of the bigger tracks also allow the 602 to use a 2" carb spacer to help the 602 keep up at the end of the straight-away. 604 has 50 more hp and 10 ft/lbs more tourqe. The 604 costs $2000.00 more than the 602.We have ran both and we are happier with the 602 because it is more dependable than the 604. There has been quiet a few 604's dropping valves, but they say we were turning them too much...who knows. The 604 has aluminum heads whereas the 602 has cast iron heads, so it is hard to get rear % with the 602 with the weight break. We will be running two FASTRAK Touring Series races this weekend against mostly 604's. This will be our first touring race with the 602. We have ran some local "big races" with the 602 and done very good. See our results here www.chrissteeleracing.com
