I run Isky gold stripe. Around 800 laps on 1/4 mile dirt track. The pressure new was right around 250. When do I know they are junk. If I check them how much pressure can be lost and still run them. Looking to run 1 or 2 more nights before Im done. I ran a set of Gold stripes last year and destroyed my cam from the springs going bad. Had about 950 laps on those. I am running these on a lower HP application than last year( 4412 2 barrel as compared to a 4 barrel.)

Laps mean nothing.Get a spring checker. What pressures you can live with depends on several factors, rpm, titanium or stainless valves, how radical the cam is,rocker arm ratio.

Checked with a tester that goes on the rocker arm and you pull to open the valve. Most are 220 and a few are as low as 210. Titanium valves,1.6-1.65 rocker ratio. The intake profile is pretty radical. Usually turn 72-7600.

No problem. You should be in good shape. That type of tester isn't accurate but it will tell you if some springs are broken or collapsed.
