Trying to get rid of a little LS weight. Don't want to add more weight, and the weight I have on the car is to the right already. Driver doesn't want to go on a diet either.:-) Motor is to the right also. Need at least 1/2% less on the LS. Don't really want to do anything major. Fuel Cell is NON-adjustable. Battery is pretty light so I don't think that would make that much of a difference. Any Ideas??? Thanks Art

Most batteries are around 40# unless you have a real small one, if it is on the extreme left side moving it to close to the right frame rail should be close to .5 a percent.

You could add a 2" spacers to both left side wheels or use a less offset wheels and see what that gains, but that going to effect alot of other things.

I'd look so several things on the left side that could be lightened or gotten rid of like:

Cutting of excess lenght on bolts
Left side header extensions or mufflers
Seat
Anything you can lighten you can add that wieght towards the right side.

It's easier to look for 1600 ways to remove an ounce then 1 way to remove a pound. It usually how hard to you want to work for it. If you put in the time and choose parts carefully you can make a really light car. I've had cars that would wieght 2180 with me (190) with 24 gallons of fuel and race ready and still have lead (probably about 80#) on the car to get to 57% rear wieght. So it can be done, it's about hard work and parts selection.

I believe it is MUCH more important to get your numbers where you need them than be at minimum weight. Cars all pick up different amounts of mud at the track so the only time they are all the same is before the pack in session. If you are 20-40lbs over minimum you will never see a difference on a stop watch even running a 602 crate motor BUT have the %'s wrong and it will kill you on the stop watch.
