WEEDSPORT, N.Y. -- Bespectacled Floridian Emil ‘Buzzie’ Reutimann survived relentless rain then pounded the Moody Mile into submission en route to capturing the inaugural Schaefer 100 during the Salt City showdown 34 years ago. The legendary driver of the double-zero Dover Brake coupe still calls Zephyrhills, Fla. home today and at 64 years of age is currently in defense of his open-wheel Modified points championship earned at East Bay Raceway Park near Tampa.
