Have you seen the 'unofficial' Summernational schedule yet? The official one should be out sometime soon, hopefully at the banquet this weekend.
Until then, check out the unofficial, incomplete, subject to changes and additions schedule posted on www.midwestdirttrackfacts.com (http://www.midwestdirttrackfacts.com) scroll to the bottom of the main page and click on the steering wheel for UMP Summernationals.
What is your opinion??? too much traveling, too much backtracking? or is it just about right.....a lot of the drives from one track to another are less than 4 hours.....
Sounds like the 'start' money should be up this year, maybe even as much as $500 to start....
opinions???
other rumors????
do you know of a track not listed that has scheduled a summernational event???
How about a UMP Summernationals for Modifieds????

Wish they could schedule an event in North Alabama, the closest track is Clarksville, TN and it is usually Wednesday night, makes for a long trip!!!!

The fans and drivers are not a part of the building the schedule. It is the promoters and UMP that make the schedule. If a promoter does not make money on the show he will not renew and another track will take over that date and it could mean distance from night to night.
It would be better to have races close together, but if you look at past years that is not always the case.
Look at I-55, Highland, Mt Vernon and Tri-State, they would be a perfect back-to-back deal. That does not happen. There are other cases were that could work, but it does not and probably will not. Let history tell the story.

yeh, and look at this one
Lawrenceburg, IN
Brownstown, IL
North Vernon, IN
if it comes down that way, just think of all the extra gas all the travelers will use....common sense would be to switch North Vernon IN and Brownstown IL
One year John Gill told me they drove through Mt. Vernon 3 times BEFORE they got to race there....
