Vicksburg, MS (12/30/07) – After a very short winter’s nap Bub McCool is set to kick off the 2008 season in his #57j Trakstar/Barker Racing Engine Super Late Model at the 17th Annual Ice Bowl at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama.
Bub had a stellar year in 2007 with 7 feature wins, 24 top five finishes, and 35 top ten finishes in 52 starts. McCool found his way into victory lane at Moulton Speedway (Moulton, AL), Columbus Speedway (Columbus, MS), Simpson County Motorsports Park (D’Lo, MS), Magnolia Motor Speedway, Greenville Speedway (Greenville, MS), Central Mississippi Speedway (Winona, MS) and Pike County Speedway (Magnolia, MS).
In 2008, McCool Motorsports will once again spend a great deal of time traveling up and down the highways and interstates in search of special events. The 2008 season for Bub will get underway January 4th-6th at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama in the 17th Annual Ice Bowl. The unsanctioned event pays $6,000 to win for Super Late Models and traditionally attracts close to 100 entries. Action gets underway on Friday with an open practice session for Super Late Models. Qualifying and heat race action will be held on Saturday with consolation events and the main event held on Sunday afternoon.
