U-Bolt Question

Is there a special tool to install/remove a u-bolt. It's difficult with a regular wrench, I keep hitting the journal on the drveshaft!!!!!

1/2" short socket, 1/4 drive ratchet works for me.

With the car on jack stands, and the rear end at ALMOST full drop, you should be able to easily rotate the drive shaft to achieve the best angle for removing the nuts and bolts (from the bottom). You shouldn't have much issue if the bind is taken out of the drive train.


You won't be able to get much throw with the wrench, but it should be easy enough to get them off. I always use an open end wrench.
