what are the differances in the 23* and 18* heads I know it is the angle of the valve but is there a outward apperance that would tell the differance of the valve angle

The differance between the two is the valve angles and the amount of air they flow. 18* heads flows more air and generates more power than a 23 degree headed motor. If your building a motor the extra expense for an 18* headed motor is worth it. If the budget doen't allow there's some excellant 23* degree heads that will be reliable and performe well. There's alot more to this story but a good engine builder will help. Good Luck
