Pearson Jr. on Cover of August Issue of Speedway Illustrated

by Wayne Castleberry
DUNN, N.C. -- Earl Pearson Jr. and the Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports team car are featured on the cover of the August issue of Speedway Illustrated. A special feature story by one of the top journalist in motorsports today, Dave Argabright, interviews Carlton & Kemp Lamm team owners of Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports and Earl about their relationship and chances of winning a third National Dirt Late Model championship in a row in the August issue. Dick Berggrens’s Speedway Illustrated is considered the number one distributed magazine in the country that covers motorsports and frequently reports on the dirt late model racing industry in their magazine.

“We are extremely excited about the story and cover shot Speedway Illustrated did about our team in the August issue. It is a real honor to have such a great journalist like Dave Argabright to recognize our accomplishments and success over the past couple of years and do a story about Earl and Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports. Our Public Relations manager Wayne Castleberry has really done a great job with the media and all the publicity we have gotten over the last several years together,” stated Carlton Lamm.

Winning two National Championships back to back has brought tremendous publicity and exposure to Earl and the team. Earl’s easy go demeanor with fellow racers and fans has brought tremendous popularity to Earl all across the country. Earl’s on-track success and personality are also why so many companies associated with Earl use his likeness and car to endorse their products to the motorsports industry. Companies recognize the market value they get by associating with Earl and the Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports team that works hard on gaining all kinds of media coverage to benefit their sponsors as much as possible.

“I want to thank Dave Argabright for all he has done for our sport and the chance to be included in a magazine like Speedway Illustrated is awesome. I also have to thank Carlton and Kemp Lamm and the entire Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports Team for allowing me to be a part of the most professional race team in the country. Carlton and Kemp gave me a great opportunity back in 1999. We have won a lot of races and two National Championships together and really become great friends and a big family over the past years together”, stated Earl from his home in Jacksonville, FL.

Fans wanting copies of the August issue with Earl on the cover can go to www.speedwayillustrated.com and contact the magazine about obtaining this issue. The magazine will hit the newsstands by June 27th as well for anyone wanting to purchase the August issue. Dirt Late Model photographer Rick Schwallie took the picture of Earl used on the cover of the magazine and that makes his fourth cover shot appearance in the Speedway Illustrated magazine.
