Local Hotshoes Taking on FASTRAK Stars at Green Valley Oct 5th & 6th

( MORE Cars Than Talledega ! )


Nine local drivers that have competed at Green Valley Raceway in 2007 under the FASTRAK Champioins Series sanctioning are getting ready to defend their home turf against over 100 drivers from 10 regions around the country, including Oregon & the Dakotas October 5th & 6th .

The drivers traveling to Etowah County represent the cream of the crop from around the 10 regions of the US, running indentical GM Performance engines on Goodyear Eagle Tires in the dirt late model configured cars. They travel in tractor-trailors much like their NASCAR counterparts.

Some teams feature drivers that are involved in & around driver development situations. Over 170 drivers nationwide are eligible. Finals stats will add a few more the week before the event.

The Green Valley stop is the first leg of three events, the next two at Mountain Raceway Park at Maryville Tn. on Oct 17 & 18 and the legendary highbanked Volunteer Speedway at Bulls Gap Tn. The high point man of the three races will pocket $50,000 in Championshp winnings, not to mention the contingency monies and the individual race earnings.

The 2006 Champion fron Six-Mile SC , Steve"Hot Rod" LaMance took home $82,5000 total for the three events.

"These guys coming in are the best from around the country, but we feel we have as strong a lineup to compete against them as any track could field" remarked first year promoter & track owner Dennis Harker.

"We have a great program for each nights featuring our local support classes running 'Survivor Series' type of format that should be fun for the racers & entertaining for the casual fans, not to mention some nail biting for the die-hards. We expect big crowds each night & will open the gates at 4 pm both days."

The drivers that the locals will be pulling hard for include Clay Grogan,Southside Al, Tony Kemp, Carrolton Ga, Greg Chumley, Attala Al, Eddie Terry, Buchanan Ga, Gathan Burns, Piedmont Al, Kasy Hall, Geraldine Al, & Blake Stewart of Rome Ga.

"This is the chance of a lifetime for all of these drivers and we are proud to have been selected by FASTRAK to be the first host for their 'Grand Nationals ' series. This is one event the fans need to take in."

The National Championship of the FASTRAK RACING SERIES is one of the largest in the United States totaling over $350,000.00 for the 2007 season.
