Anyone ever run a wheel spacer on the leftrear to help tighten the car up for slick conditions? Good idea? Bad Idea? I don't have a lot of help at the track and its usually heavy for the heat race and slicks off feature time so I am looking for some quick & dirty changes. Thanks.

We have messed with it some, keep in mind its on our modified thoguh. It didnt seem to make a big difference. Driver always said he felt like it came off straighter, but I dont know that it really tightened the car that much. The big thing I see is as you move the wheel out you are losing weight off that corner, so even though you move the thrust out furthur you are losing weight or traction at teh same time. Maybe if you put a spacer on and moved weight or added bite or whatever it might make a bigger difference. I dont know.... maybe im looking at it wrong too.
We have messed with both spacers and different wheel offsets. Don't use either anymore. Wedge adjusment and bar angles are what we use. Remember Flat that slick out there is still tacky to most of these guys on here.

It is kind of a lost art these days. Today's cars have so many adjustments. They were used a lot in the leaf days. If you put one on and reset the wedge, it will help you some. You will probably need to put 2 rounds back in the lr if you put a 2" spacer on.
Just realize your wheel is now out there and begging someone to hit it and cut your tire down.

I could ever tell much difference with a 2" spacer on or off, but like mentioned you will need to add rounds to get the bite back to where it was. I could tell alot of difference with a spacer on either of the rear wheels but could on the RF, go figure!
I agree with MasterSbilt_Racer about the begging for someone to hit it and knock it off the bead, although with the bodies flared out as much as they are now it isn't as prone to happen now-a-days as in the past.

I scaled the car with and without the 2" spacer and there's about 22lbs of difference.
