How significant is 1 degree of pinion angle? Say going from 6 to 7. Will the car get up in the slick better with more? Will there be a noticable difference in the car and what will it be?

Unless your panhard bar is attached to a pinion plate, you will change nothing.

To add to what MB_racer said...

The only reason for having pinion angle to begin with was to keep the u-joints moving so you didn't beat the needles bearings to death. Then drag cars needed more due to the wrap up on the axle...when they run down the track they still only have about what the stock setting is, but at rest they usually have more....same for dirt cars that wrap the axle...lift bar and pull bar.

If you do have the J-bar mounted to the pinion plate then adding pinion angle...down lowers the mounting point for the j-bar....and vise versa....which could have an effect on handling.
