Had our Brinn rebuilt over the winter, and now with only about 6 races on it the clutches are burnt and completely shot. It worked perfectly one night and the next night it had nothing. Any ideas what might have happened or anybody else have this happen.

Were the clutches soaked before they were installed ? If they were, were they soaked in the same fluid that you run in the tranny ? I have rebuilt a couple that burnt clutches and those were the 2 things that caused the problems. I have also heard about this problem when the atv/motor cycle clutches were used.

Not sure exactly what fluid he used, but Im pretty sure it was ATF, and thats what we ran in it too.
Another question, for those who run ATF, after 2 nights and you drain the oil does it still look red like ATF or is it brown and dirty looking?
I was surprised the first time i drained ours and it was brown, I was expecting it to be red. After all you run ATF 50000 miles in your street car and its still red, but 2 nights in a Brinn and its brown? Makes me think there was something else going on. Maybe bad clutches to start with...who knows.
